Ceiliúradh an Bhlascaoid was held in the Blasket Centre in Dun Chaoin Co. Kerry from the 27th to the 29th of September 2024. ‘Cá bhfuil ár dTriall? Caomhnú is Aitheantas do na Blascaodaí’ (Where are we headed? Conservation and Recognition for the Blaskets) was the title of the event. Focus was on Blasket Islands: where they stand today, and what their future may be given what has already been done, and what is planned. Indeed, the theme of the event was already confirmed when the establishment of a Marine National Park in Kerry was announced in the month of May 2023, a new direction, and an important decision for the future of the Blaskets also discussed in this publication.
